This painting was born out of my initiation to becoming a Sahumadora or "fire keeper" as part of the Aztec dance tradition. It represents an offering and promise to follow the camino rojo, red path, and the golden path which is the path of higher consciousness. This painting represents rebirth and alignment with truth, there is sacred smoke rising in the milky way that resembles a phoenix or eagle.
